“Brief Comment on the Removal of Sanusi as the Emir of Kano”

I make bold to state that Sanusi probably wasn’t fighting the GANDOLL$R government, rather, he tried stating the bitter truth that will one day come to haunt the northern political leaders and bourgeois!
You come to equity with clean hands but of all the people and political leaders that could call out Sanusi on integrity, GANDOLL$R shouldn’t be one.
It’s all about politics of personal interest and absolutely nothing to do with sanusi’s capacity and ability to rule as an Emir.
T’was all premeditated and we could see that in the prompt installation of Ado Bayero, the son of sanusi’s predecessor and uncle as the new Emir of Kano.
Ado Bayero contested the throne, albeit fiercely with sanusi but lost out. He’s now brought to sit on the throne through the back door by a governor whose integrity is as questionable as a thief’s hand caught in the cookies jar!
I hold no brief for sanusi neither do I claim he’s squeaky clean but should that be a reason to veil the truth about his desire for a re-birth of the northern Nigeria?
Should we decapitate the messenger because we are ill at ease with his message?
It’s instructive to note that there’s a time bomb ticking in the North and if allowed to explode, it will have far reaching consequences not only for the the North but the entire Nigerian nation!
Other regions of the country might feel that, well it’s a northern affair and we are SW, SE or SS but that’s a simplistic view that practically holds no water in the face of reality!
For example, in the SW, we have fairly large population of Hausa/Fulani traders especially in the urban areas , add to this the influx of Fulani youth from Chad, Niger and other West African states and beyond. This group of migrants enter the country through a sophisticated syndicate who had already made available for the migrants motorbikes for Okada business on leasing agreement. The recent ban on Okada transportation in Lagos state saw a huge increase in migration of the Hausa/ Fulani Okada operators to other neighbouring SW states especially those adjacent to Lagos, e.g. Ogun and Oyo.
Displacement from Lagos resulted in influx to other states. Subsequently, whatever reasons Lagos had for banning Okada transportation in Lagos , of which am sure Security would be paramount, those problems haven’t been resolved by the displacement or have they?
No, because if and when the underlying issues are not addressed and resultantly they surface in those adjacent states and metamorphose into collective threats, it’s far from being impossible that the impacts will be felt throughout the SW region including Lagos state!
Sanusi probably saw this and other distasteful consequences of the non-challant attitude of the northern political leaders to tackling the social menace to the north and save the region from imminent anarchy.
The North as it were, has played the federal character card for decades but they haven’t really caught up with the rest of the country despite strategic attempts at trying to hold the rest down for them to catch up. The fact remains indisputable that the northern region more than any other part of the country is predominantly challenged by abject poverty, religious extremism and illiteracy which combines to constitute a big threat to the security fabric of the region and as we see by extension to the rest of the country.
Sanusi chose to speak out but his traducers tagged him a black sheep that must be sacrificed at all costs for them to continue living in self denial of the impending armageddon!
