
Edo state that just reported an index case of CORONAVIRUS has applauded the immediate intervention of an APC gubernatorial aspirant in the state, Engr. Chris Ogiewmonyi, in combating the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
The governorship aspirant whose background is from the oil industry where Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) remains paramount, is embarking on this project in collaboration with a Non governmental Organization, Daisy Heart Initiative, towards mitigating the spread of the virus by creating and deepening awareness campaigns on the right things to do concerning the dreaded virus.
The awareness campaign themed “EDO Together,” would be basically on how to educate the people of the state across all the 18 local government areas of the state on dreaded disease to check the spread.
In a move to ensure the success of the awareness campaign, the group has constituted coordinators in the 18 local government areas of the state to midwife the programme
The group, which collaborated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, is poised to share important health and wellness information about ways to reduce the spread of the coronavirus as well as sanitisers to the people free.
According to a pamphlet distributed by the group, “The group has already inaugurated its 18 LGA coordinators
“They would be going round sharing health tips on how to effectively curb the spread of the deadly disease.
“A team of medical doctors and personnel would be at hand to offer professional services.”
They vowed to use the same energy which they exhibited in their campaign to help put an end to this pandemic.
“Coronavirus is real, residents of Edo State have been advised to stay indoors and observe the highest level of personal hygiene as a case was recorded today in the State.”
The group enjoined the people of the state to avoid gatherings and ensure they regularly sanitize their surroundings, including doorknobs and surfaces frequently exposed to are highly necessary.
