
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA)
has stated that the inferno which rocked Iju Ishaga Elliot, Lagos today has been put out completely.
It will be recalled that a 30 tonne LPG Tanker being operated by Mana Gas Ltd exploded at the scene.
In a statement cited by our correspondent as signed by LASEMA’s Head, Public Affairs,Nosa Okunbor, the total number of injured persons are 30 consisting of 20 Adult Males and 10 adult Females.
LASEMA conducted a post disaster assessment and Disaster losses are as follows :
Residential buildings 2
Church- 1
Event Centre- 1
Commercial buildings- 4
Market- 1 (consisting of 15 shanty shops)
Cars- 11
Mini trucks- 2
Bus- 1
Heavy duty Truck- 1
Total number of Buildings- 23
Total number of Vehicles- 15.
Okunbor added that responders at the scene were the LASEMA Response Team, LRU Paramedics, LRU Fire team, LASG Fire Service, NEMA, NPF, NSCDC and Red Cross.
