Celebrity Journal Publisher’s Association Of Nigeria ( CJPAN), has described the demise of the first civilian governor of Lagos State and father of journalism in Nigeria, Alhaji Lateef Jakande( LKJ), as transition of a fulfilled life.
In a statement signed by the PRO department of this association, the President Mr. Joshua Uloko, said, LKJ popularly known as Baba Kekere giant strides in Lagos State provided the platform on which successive government built on, adding that his legacies in journalism in Nigeria can’t be overemphasize and will continue to be in the memories of existing generation and many generations to come.
The president while mourning with the family, Lagosians and graduates of Nigeria Institute of Journalism ( NIJ), the Journalism school established by the late legend admonished politicians, journalists to emulate the exemplary life of LKJ.
Alhaji Lateef Jakande who was the executive governor of Lagos State between 1979 and 1983 passed away at the ripe age of 91 years.
