Former governorship aspirant of Osun State, Hon. Niyi Ajetomobi has noticed that APC members in Osun State has been divided into two factions: one is known as Aregbesola’s faction, while the other, Ilerioluwa faction, (Gov. Oyetola’ s faction).
In an interview with our Editor, Ajetomobi said, he first heard it as a rumour but now, it has been manifested with his findings.
Ajetomobi continued that these two factions are from the same party, wondering why they are avoiding each other like a plaque.
This politician who inherited politics from his grandfather who was Awolowo’s contemporary hinted that the outcome of the party faction could cost APC 2022 governorship Election.
He observed that Ex- governor Aregbesola’ s administration’s achievements is what governor Oyetola is building on, and don’t understand the reason for the faction.
Niyi Ajetomobi remincence that during 2018 governorship campaign in Osun state, APC leaders refused to absorb new members.it’s a fact that new members could have some opinions that could move the party forward but because of their selfish interests they denied them.
I’m a case study, ” In 2018, I defected to APC with my 10,000 members from PDM, and then, Aregbesola endorsed me during one of the campaigns. On our own, we gave the little supports we could to the party despite the fact that they refused to support us.
Moreover, when it was dawn on them that they could fail, they went to Omisore to beg for 426 votes. Till now, this government has refused to get back to us.
Aladamojesha mathematically broke it down that Aregbesola’s APC followers has 30 percent, Ilerioluwa faction has 30percent while PDP followers has 40percent, he warns APC that if they fail to unite, Aregbesola could give his followers to PDP, and APC will automatically loose to the opposition’s party.
Hon. Niyi Ajetomobi commended the efforts of Rt. Timothy Owoeye, Speaker, Osun state House of Assembly and APC State chairman in Osun, Gbenga Famodun for their efforts in moving the state forward.
