It was an epoch event in Ibadan on Sunday as Popular ibadan- based gospel singer, evang. Oluwarinde, formerly Aworinde of ”Moki Obi Mi Tobi mi Saiye” fame led other gospel artistes to shield of Christ Ministry’s Garden Of Praise Concert.
After his scintillating performance which earned him a standing ovation from the congregation, Baba Oluwarinde noted that, most gospel Singers don’t sing reasonable songs again because they lack the word of God, he therefore admonished them to consult their Bibles on daily basis to get meaningful inspirations that could win souls for Christ.
The organizer of the concert, prophet( Dr.) Adeniyi Shittu aka Oluwalogbon and his wife Evang. Nike Shittu aka Ojo Emi also thrilled the congregation with their laudable performance, after which Prophet Shittu was honoured with the most insightful award for his contribution to the religious, gospel and online sectors in Nigeria from Giraffe Global Magazine(www.giraffeglobal.com.ng). He also received another award from National Association of Nigeria Broadcasters.
Narrating her journey into the music ministration, Ojo Emi as she’s fondly called said she inherited music from her father who is ”Apala’ legend.
She later joined choir in the church and became one of the most sought-after back-up singers in the gospel music industry.
According to her, she had backed up songs for Mama Bola Are, Evang. Dare Melody, Lady Senwele Jesu, Baba Oluwarinde who also take her along for music ministrations.
In 2011, Evang. Nike Shittu established Shield of Christ Music Ministry and has since released albums and singles to her credit The most popular among her songs is Ojo Emi. Others are Olorun Gbangba, Garden of praise, Oro nla, Sorosoke to mention but a few.
She is an expert when it comes to song composition and arrangement as she gets her inspirations from reading her Bible daily..
As a professional, she performs at different ocassions and do birthday wishes for personalities alongside her husband who is also talented singer.
The roll calls at the concert include Pastor Samuel, Adeyi, Pastor MO Jewola, Pastor Ishola, Pastor Olowokere among others.
