It is no wonder therefore that the founders of The Football College Orile Imo, the first institution of it’s kind in Nigeria, decided to use this time proven Maxim as the cornerstone of it’s philosophy. At The Football College Orile Imo, academic education is blended with football. The institution is located at Orile Imo – a flourishing cosmopolis of Sagamu/Abeokuta Expressway of Ogun State, Nigeria.
Overview
The Football College – Orile Imo, Ogun State, is a full boarding secondary school that offers a combination of Nigerian curricula (JSS1-JSS3 and SSC1-SSC3) and daily football training with dedicated teachers and trainers, guaranteeing an environment in which athletes can excel.
The Football College is the brainchild of veteran Youth Coach and talent developer, Coach Kasimawo Laloko (The Former Technical Director of the Nigerian Football Federation, FIFA and CAF National Instructor on Youth Development in Africa. The founder’s focus is on providing subsidized secondary school education for prospective students from any part of Nigeria and other African countries. The school runs all compulsory government subjects and engages students in carpentry and building vocational construction training.
The founder’s rationale for establishing The Football College is predicated on his passion for discovering and nurturing local football talents into international fame, where education is blended with football. Consequently, the need to fill the vacuum between formal and informal education.
According to Coach Laloko, the vision that berthed the school is to produce the generation of complete football stars for Nigeria, Africa and THE WORLD IN general and it’s core mission is to develop complete professional players with good characters and education. In his words“Talent runs than the physical. It’s more than what you see on the outside”
History
The Football College is situated on a 10-acre land at Orile Imo community along km 4 Sagamu/Abeokuta Expressway, Ogun State, Nigeria. Convenient central location with easy access to major towns and cities.
Chief Kasimawo Laloko – The Director and Proprietor of Pepsi Football Academy, established the Football College Orile-Imo in January 2006 to fill the vacuum between formal and informal education. The founders’ rationale for starting the school is based on affordable education and focus more significantly on producing the world best players with good attributes
The Football College – Orile Imo, is officially approved by the Ogun State Ministry of Education for the West African Examination Council- WAEC (SSSCE) and The National Examination Council – NECO examinations. Courtesy of our founding father, we enjoy an excellent working relationship with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and other Nigeria’s sports councils/ministries.
Education
Our student-athletes have the opportunity to combine football with WAEC and NECO SSCE examinations and other local, and nternational exams. The school provides further support for the application process with the opportunity of ACT, SAT and TOEFL preparation in conjunction with a tailor-made short-term programme of sports and education.
The Football College Orile-Imo is a conduit platform to the USA/Canada and other international and makes it possible for the athlete to pursue their sport at the highest level while working towards an internationally accepted degree programme
