One of Nigeria’s top rated Journalists, Mr. Remi Adelowo, took to his Facebook page to register his displeasure over Sterling Bank’s system collapse. He wrote “Upon all this stress, Sterling Bank is showing its customers shege promax. Services practically shut down since Monday on the excuse of an upgrade of its system. A sad story for a once reliable bank”
Meanwhile, we gathered that some customers have threatened to shut down the Iyana Itire branch of the bank if they do not have access to their money in the next 24 hours.
While responding to the outcry, Sterling Bank apologized for the inconvenience, explaining that they are conducting a system upgrade to improve their services and provide a seamless banking experience. While the bank assures customers that this is a necessary step, the prolonged downtime has left many questioning the bank’s preparedness and ability to manage its systems.
As the situation continues, customers remain stranded, unable to access their funds or conduct transactions. The bank’s response has done little to alleviate concerns, leaving many to wonder when the issues will be resolved.
