In commemoration of Nigeria’s Independence Day, Babawale Funsho David is set to release a powerful album titled “Glorious Crown in 3 Days,” dedicated to the courageous Leah Sharibu, because she deserved Independence and freedom as we celebrate October 1st as a Nation.

Leah Sharibu’s story is one of incredible courage and faith. She was kidnapped by Boko Haram on February 19, 2018, along with 110 other schoolgirls from the Government Girls Science and Technical School in Dapchi, Yobe State, Nigeria. While most of the girls were released after negotiations, Leah was kept captive because she refused to renounce her Christian faith and convert to Islam.

Despite the terrorist group’s threats to kill her, Leah remains steadfast in her beliefs. Her situation is a heartbreaking reminder of the persecuted Christians in other part of the world. Reports indicate that Leah has been forced into marriage and has three children, but her spirit remains unbroken.

Leah Sharibu’s case has indeed sparked international outrage, and many are advocating for her release. The Nigerian government has faced criticism for not doing enough to secure her freedom. With President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s new administration, there’s hope that he’ll take action if properly informed about Leah’s situation. I hope other Civil society stakeholders and media representatives will help appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rescue Leah and others in captivity.

Leah’s story serves as a powerful testimony to her faith and has inspired many worldwide. Her courage in the face of adversity is a beacon of hope, and her refusal to deny Jesus Christ has made her a symbol of Christian resilience.

Leah’s parents Nathan and Rebecca through their spokesperson President of the LEAH Foundation Dr. Gloria Samdi Puldu started that …” I am also overjoyed because my daughter did not denounce Christ.”

The parents are also directly appealing to Mr. president – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to please remember their daughter Leah in captivity. She has spent six years plus in the hands of her captors. We use this occasion to plead with you Sir to please look upon us with pity and rescue our daughter. Leah deserves to be freed and not abandoned by her dear nation.
